WORKING HOLIDAY LIFE AT TREEHOUSE

More comfort than a hostel. Less commitment than a rental. Treehouse Toowong is Brisbane’s easy-living option for Working Holiday Makers.

FROM $280/WEEK

This resident story comes from a traveller on a working holiday visa who chose Treehouse Toowong as their base in Brisbane. It shares what day-to-day life was really like and why the setup made things easier.

Trying to balance part-time work with weekend adventures is chaotic enough without adding long commutes, surprise bills or complicated leases. When I arrived in Brisbane on a working holiday, I needed somewhere central, flexible, and low-effort.
Treehouse Toowong ended up being the perfect fit. Here’s how it made my day-to-day life easier.

1. A Location That Actually Works With My Schedule

When you’re working irregular shifts, every minute matters. Treehouse sits right next to public transport and local shopping, which saves me an unbelievable amount of time.

Transport at the Doorstep:

The bus and train are basically outside the building. I can be out the door and on transport in under a minute.

Quick Food Runs:

Toowong Village and the dining precinct are a one-minute walk away. Perfect for those nights when the only thing I’m cooking is… nothing.

Heading to UQ:

If I'm meeting friends at the university, it's just a three-minute drive.

Parking Options:

I mostly use public transport, but when I rent a car for a few days, there’s paid parking right across the road: simple and predictable.

Having everything so close makes the weekday grind smoother and the weekend planning easier.

2. Pricing & Flexibility That Don’t Bite Later

Budgeting on a fluctuating income is rough. Treehouse made it easy with simple weekly pricing and short minimum stays.

Transparent Rates:

Pods start from $280 per week, and micro rooms sit around $299-$339 per week.

All-Inclusive:

Electricity, water, air-con, unlimited high-speed internet - all included. No bill surprises. No mental load.

Flexible Stays:

Minimum stays are short (two weeks for pods, four weeks for micro rooms), and rent is charged fortnightly. Perfect if your plans change.

Move-In Ready:

My room came furnished, and the shared kitchens are fully equipped. I didn’t need to buy a single plate. Routine cleaning of common areas keeps life easy.

The booking process was straightforward. I simply paid the minimum stay amount upfront, and everything was sorted before I arrived in Brisbane.

3. Community Spaces & Support That Make Life Easier

Treehouse isn’t just a building. It’s surprisingly social and incredibly practical for working holiday makers.

Coworking Hub:

There are study zones, sound pods, and fast Wi-Fi - ideal for remote work, job applications or video calls.

Social Spaces:

The rooftop terrace is the highlight. Lounge seating, BBQ, pizza oven, outdoor cinema… it’s an easy place to meet people after work without spending extra.

Actual Support:

The team here helped me with proof of residence, rental references and guidance for local admin - things that usually take ages on your own. Security is tight with 24-hour CCTV and secure access.

Everyday Essentials:

There’s pay-per-use laundry, parcel lockers, and storage for luggage. All the unglamorous stuff is handled.

A Weekday & Weekend Snapshot

A Regular Weekday:

I finish a hospitality shift in the city, hop on a bus, and I’m home quickly. I duck into Toowong Village for groceries on the walk back. After dinner, I head to the rooftop for a BBQ and a chat with a few people from the co-working space. Then straight to my air-conditioned room - no stress about the electricity bills.

A Typical Weekend:

Friday rolls around, and I’m ready to hit the beach. Because Treehouse made all the little admin tasks simple - from booking my room to handling rental references - I can grab my swimmers and go, knowing there’s nothing left hanging over my head.

Considering a Stay?

Treehouse Toowong is set up for people who want convenience, flexibility, and a bit of community while they’re in Brisbane. If you’re planning a working holiday, booking an inspection is the best way to compare pod and micro room options for your budget and privacy needs.
